Could Not move recorded media to destination

I am sorry I do not have a simple mechanism to provide update for docker for internal builds

I have an updated Synology 418play NAS and Windows 10 (latest insider build) if you want me to install it on one or the other or both let me know, I’m happy to test.

@sa2000 I’m using Synology Intel 64 bit (main server with DVR) and NVIDIA Shield devices. I have access to the developer options to allow debug access on the NVIDIA Shield devices.

@sa2000, I stopped the indexing on both of my Win10 computers, left indexing on my Synology Diskstation, updated both Win10 and my Synology Diskstation to the alpha build 1.18.6 this morning. On my Synology where 99% of my recording is done, now almost all recordings are failing (47 failures and 11 successes) with the “Could not move recorded media to destination”. I checked the path and all is valid.

Could I have logs covering the time

I installed the alpha on my 2 systems and so far no issues, though I think I’ve only made 2 recordings. But at the moment at least things seem to be working for me…will keep you posted.

I have evidence from @David-Plex-DiskStation that we appear to still have an issue - perhaps an error in the bug fix code. So keep a close eye and any failure due to .grab files not being there, gather logs from all servers running at the time

Thank you @sa2000. What is interesting about that to me is that I turned off the indexing on both of my other Win10 computers. So the Diskstation “should be” the only thing touching the grab folder. Also, off topic, I was going to uninstall the Plex software on the two Win10 computers and both failed on unistall. Not important for pursuing the fix on this. But at some point I will need to figure out how to uninstall when the uninstall doesnt work.

Not sure if either of these support articles will be of assistance:

@David-Plex-DiskStation

We found a fault in the new code that was fixing the deletion by the other servers. Waiting now for this to be fixed and a new alpha build available - I am sorry but using the current alpha risks deletion of in progress recordings files

Is it possible that this new code is included in the builds on this post? Hardware Transcoding broken when burning subtitles ApolloLake-based Synology NASes

Since installing that version (1.18.7.2306) provided by @chrisallen , I am now getting failed DVR recordings with the issues described in this thread.

very likely

@David-Plex-DiskStation A fix is now available in a new alpha

New alpha 1.18.6.2330 sent to @David-Plex-DiskStation, @jamesbigler, @cosmos359

I will get this looked into to establish what elements of the fixes for the .grab deletion are in the available builds

Would like to have the alpha, too.

Synology 918+ is used to record.
Nvidia shield is second server (no recording).

All access the same SMB Files/library on the synology.

@David-Plex-DiskStation, @jamesbigler, @cosmos359
@boartensen

How soon will you know if the new alpha build fixes the issue ?

Yes this build does have the new deletion bug. You would need to check earlier builds / wait for the next build

@sa2000, I just installed the new build. I have a couple of recordings in the pipe this afternoon that should hopefully show if the bug is still present.

@sa2000, I had two recordings that ran just fine.

I’m still concerned that PMS on my NVIDIA Shield TV isn’t doing the automatic indexing every hour like it did before I installed this alpha. I’m not seeing the shows I recorded two hours ago.

Logs please from both servers and details of what recordings and on which server and when and the current state
