I actually cannot see any recordings being made on the Nvidia Shield in the logs.
Nor any grab directories purged
which shows have you recorded and on what machine and when?
Are these shows visible to the Synology but not the Shield?
The last periodic hourly scan on the Nvidia Shield was at 07:14

We appear to have stopped the periodic checks that happen every 5 minutes - with last log entry at 07:49
I can see some issues with the certificate.
Could you update to the new beta and see if the hourly library updates happen. Collect the logs soon after the first hour passes
@jamesbigler appears to have been a deadlock of some sort that arose at about 07:53 and after that the periodic checks stopped. I need to see if this happens in the latest alpha build
Just realized I had not sent you the new alpha build for the Shield
I get this error as well, the Media files are on a NAS (NFS Share) but I only have one server and isn’t shared. Is this thread dealing with the error only if people are sharing the paths with other PMS’s? Only difference is that this error is not about failing recordings, its Live TV that causes this (pic shows no TV show title)
Thanks for your guys continue working on this issue. It’s appreciated. I had my first problem with the first alpha you gave me today. I got the same destination error for the first time since my update, but it was trying to record 2 shows at the same time. A single show before and a single show afterwards were recorded correctly so I’m assuming trying to record 2 shows at once caused the old problem. Do we know how this new alpha will react to 2 simultaneous recordings? Anyway I’ll try the new program and see what happens. Thank you;)
The only other case is using a recent build with a faulty fix for the shared paths .gtrab deletion issue as was mentioned here Could Not move recorded media to destination - #154 by gte517z - which you are not
Would need logs after a failed recording. Would be also good to have logs from the server after launch to see if any startup issues.
The issue with the first alpha was that when the .grab directories cleanup routine was run, it purged file for the in-progress recording. The second alpha has a fix for that.
So the parameter here is
- getting the cleanup routine to execute whilst a recording is in place.
I managed to get logs after the error occurred again. Is it safe to attach log files here? I didn’t see any sensitive info, Plex Media Server.1.log has the error.

Recording works so far. Installed the new builds yesterday. Ill try to force (and check) if the library scan on the shield is working properly within the next few hours again.
Update: Ok. No failures any longer. Seems to work perfect here.
Please do attach the logs zip file
Attached to the my original post. Thanks!
With the 1.8.6.2330 builds, I haven’t seen failures yet. I’ve only recorded a couple of shows so far. The NVIDIA Shield also started to index, but again after only a couple of shows in a row, it may not have had a chance to wedge just yet.
I’m going to increase the stuff I’m recording to see if I can trigger issues.
I believe we have fixed the issue where other servers were purging the recordings .grab files - but there are still some other causes for these errors that we are looking into
The failure of the Shield to scan new library contents was due to a deadlock situation that arose and that got resolved on the restart
Regarding the channel 300 failure - was this being recorded and at the same time being watched as Live TV and the error arose when the Live TV session ended at 21:27 ?
No so far this only happens with live TV, channel 300 wasn’t being recorded.
Yep it was actually running for that long, 3-930pm.
and that entry and error in the screenshot only pops up there after the error ?
I presume that is a screenshot of “DVR Schedule” - which Plex app / client is the screenshot from?
