"Could not tune channel. Please check your tuner or antenna." Error

i am having a problem with only being able to tune with 2 channels. I seem to be able to record from all of the channel but only two at a time. I can remote with the hdhomerun app and use the third tuner, just not in plex

Is there a reason that no one from Plex even responds to these threads? Is it in the wrong place to get support?

Your tuner isn’t on the supported list so it becomes a community support issue.
If you searched/read every thread for the last 6 months you would of run across a statement or two that a problem was identified with Hauppauge cards, only when there is a fix will you hear anything else.

If you did want more attention for your issue, start a new thread with all the required info:
Server Version
Client you are using and Version
Debug logs yes ,Verbose logs no
Choose appropriate tags like Server-Windows etc.

Yup I know that. Except most of the complaints are coming from HDHR users. So kind of a bad excuse.

Plex is under no obligations to reply to us, except that they want to be an ongoing company. That the hdhr devices work except for with Plex, points to a fundamental issue.

That this has been unanswered for so long says Plex doesn’t know how to fix, can’t fix or won’t fix. I doubt the first and last, but if they can’t fix, theres no sense in me sticking around and hope something changes.

Plex has my information. If they could have done something, that ship has sailed.

from the support website all hdhomerun tuners are on the support list
https://support.plex.tv/articles/225877427-supported-dvr-tuners-and-antennas/

Yes, ALL HDHomeRun are explicitly supported. Not only is there inconsistency tuning, but there is video corruption CONSTANTLY. not like a glitch every hour, but a glitch every 10s.

NONE OF THESE PROBLEMS EXIST WHEN USING THE HDHOMERUN APP. THIS IS COMPLETELY A PLEX PROBLEM.

Yes, I’m yelling. Plex isn’t listening to my plaintive whispers, so it’s worth a shot.

Never worked with clearstream

Worked shortly with hdhomerun

Now it doesn’t

They need to get this fixed or

STOP COLLECTING MONEY FOR PLEXPASS!

I’m yelling LOUDER!

Dear Mr. Plex,

I am about to be an ex Plex Pass subscriber. I know, I know a paltry $5 a month you just lost. But I am never coming back, as I can’t check DVR functionality without it.

I love you guys, I wanted you to “win”. But you over promised and under delivered. You didn’t even reply. For a month. Its just too easy to cancel cable these days for Hulu or Sling or Youtube TV. And it’s even easier to cancel a Plex Pass.

There, just cancelled.

Buh bye now.

Love,
Dave

Running a HDHomerun Quattro in the UK and now seeing this error on Plex, anyone got a solution yet?

I had the same issue and rolled back to PMS version 1.17.0.1709 and it’s working for me again.

I have this problem too. Downgraded to version 1.17.0.1709 and the problem persists! HELP!!

I’m trialing TV Mosaic Live with my HDHomerun Quattro, have to say I’m impressed so far, super easy to setup and picture quality over a remote connection from UK to Dubai is better than Plex so far.

I downgraded to v1.16.xx and it fixed the problem. Then I tried re-upgrading to each version (problem with each) until I reached v1.18.1.2019 and that one is working.

For the first time in a long while, couldn’t connect to ESPN. Turned off QOS in my router, which I had turned on yesterday, and its now OK. May be a coincidence, but one data point.

I have what I believe is the same problem:

Using HDHR (with updated firmware) I cannot get 1 channel on Plex (the other 50 come in fine). Plex reports the signal strength is good (all but 1 bar) and I can access this channel with HDHR application and through Windows Media Center with no problems. However when I try on Plex I get “Could not tune channel. Please check your tuner or antenna.”

If Plex is not offering any support through here, I’m not sure what I’m paying for. For those considering a subscription please see the lack of a fix for this issue for at least 1 year as of this post.

As posted earlier, I had this exact problem for the past year using the HDHomeRun Dual.

This Christmas, I took a chance and bought the HDHomeRun CONNECT DUO (model HDHR5-2US).

I have the exact same setup (antenna, wiring, network hardware, PMS version, etc.), and I don’t get this problem with the new Connect Duo tuner. When I swap out the new tuner for the old tuner, the issue returns.

I don’t know what this means exactly, but I thought I’d at least report my latest observations to this thread.

This was my issue, I am running in docker on unraid and I had to fix my transcode directory paths in the docker config then apply them in Plex, once I did that I was up and working again.

Super disappointing that this is still an issue… and what it MIGHT get solved if I go out and spend another $100+ on another tuner? I don’t get why this worked so flawlessly for years… and then after plex upgraded past 1.13 it stopped working.
