My experience is:
PC → Ubuntu 18.04 LTS → Plex server app (lifetime license paid) + DVR & Live TV from VBox XTi-3442 (DVB-T) → Plex working, DVR & Live TV didn’t work properly. Plex can flawlessly find the dvb-t box, but it runs only 1st program 1 time, I played, then no more programs until I deleted the DVR & Live TV from Plex.
Synology NAS → DSM → Plex server app (lifetime license paid) + DVR & Live TV from VBox XTi-3442 (DVB-T) → Plex working, DVR & Live TV didn’t work properly. DVR & Live TV from VBox XTi-3442 (DVB-T) → PC with VLC → Live TV 100% OK.
DVR & Live TV from VBox XTi-3442 (DVB-T) → iPad with VLC → Live TV 100% OK.
DVR & Live TV from VBox XTi-3442 (DVB-T) → PC with VBox native app → Live TV 100% OK (just it took longer time to start).
DVR & Live TV from VBox XTi-3442 (DVB-T) → iPad with VBox native app → Live TV 100% OK (just it took longer time to start).
I do not have other possibilities to try. I do not have possibility to run vlc instead of plex.
