Critical error since March 19th - Plex not loading on Hisense\Vizio TVs

Starting with today’s 1.18.8.2527 update, Plex hangs on black screen on loading.
Many people are complaining on many forums. One of them here:

Plex, please fix ASAP

These TVs are no longer supported; which means that at some point it is/was likely the Plex app would stop functioning as new releases of Plex Media Server are deployed.

yep just started having issues myself.

I have rolled back to 1.18.7.2457 and I am still having the same issue. Can anyone else confirm?

i have also tried 1.18.7.2438 and still getting the black screen.

Can confirm, same problem here with Hisense TV. Working fine last night, and now it just goes to a black screen after the Plex logo.

I’m on 1.18.8.2527

I feel pretty stupid buying a lifetime Plex Pass now.

So I assume the problem is not with the Plex Server version deployed on the machine, but with the global servers declining the connectivity…

I have the same issue. lets hope they release a hotfix soon

i dont think there will be a fix at all. this is most likely the result of our tvs no longer being supported.

I have the same issue for my Vizio TV also. I don’t understand what is going on here but it doesn’t make sense that it would simply stop working all of a sudden.
