Trying to launch any game i’m getting critical error 15000. on just the stock games!

A 15000 error typically means you do not have a compatible GPU. Check against this https://support.parsec.app/hc/en-us/articles/360001106411-How-Do-I-Know-If-My-Graphics-Card-Supports-Hosting-A-Game-With-Parsec.

This Error 15000 is pretty much is a deal-killer for me. I have a Mac Pro Tower maxed out with dual 6-core CPUs, 48GB RAM, and an AMD Radeon RX-580 GPU running macOS Mojave and still can’t host a minuscule 1970s ROM on this system. This is pretty disappointing to say the least, as outside of my Plex system, I can run thousands of MAME arcade games without issue all the way up to the latest years. And, I can just about do the same with my Raspberry Pi. Tried other native Plex clients on iOS and Apple TV and only get a black screen.

Same Here i have a Ryzen 7 2700, I can run Psx emulation fine but according to this my GPU isn’t strong enough to run ChronoTrigger on the snes ?? which run fine outside of plex btw…

I believe that is a supported GPU. Please check that the driver is updated.

I’m on a Mac. There are no specific drivers to add outside of the latest Mojave, which I’m on. If I can’t get this to work before my free trial is over, I’m ditching it and not coming back. No way am I paying for a half-baked feature. This is essentially a public beta.

same, start hearing a retro beep and then it shuts down with “A critical error occurred. Error code: -15000 (Unknown)”

Mac Mini 2010 NVIDIA GeForce 320M 256 MB. I guess this means unsupported? Should’ve checked before wasting my 1 week trial, but I was under the impression all Macs worked.

Same here on iMac late 2015 27" - Mojave, Plex running fine for years. Added Game arcade signed up, everything followed I get nothing but a black screen on my devices with white controllers drawn on screen. Never anything else. Oddly the saved thumbnails show game in progress as if I was playing.

it’s possible we can support more Mac hardware by using software encoding. there is only limited support for hardware encoding via Parsec.

Does that mean I should give up trying and cancel my trial for Arcade? I love a challenge but not having any luck.

This being the case, it should be a free feature for PlexPass subscribers. How difficult would it be to just implement the cores yourselves and not use Parsec? The code is open source! My friend can’t even get it to work on his Windows box either.

we can’t do that because of the licensing we have around Parsec and the Atari games which entail per-user costs.

the “cores” are emulators; Parsec is the low-latency streaming library.

Why is parsec required for local LAN play?

Why not just provide a hook into the games for plex and let users optional install and “license” items they want to add.

because that’s the architecture. otherwise we’d need to build all emulators into all our apps.

but if you are simply using Parsec for remote emulation, surely you could just opt for local emulators on the plex server and then stream those? Maybe I’m misunderstanding what exactly it is that Parsec does but if all it is doing is handling remote emulation and passing it back to plex it would make more sense to handle the emulation locally and reduce bandwidth requirement? Parsec cant be doing much if it is requiring a decent GFX card in the local machine to handle the rendering
