All deeplinking seems to be completely broken with the preview app. Even after uninstalling the App Store build, while the schemes work and launch the app, you’re not taken to the right place. This is a huge frustration for me because it breaks a ton of my automations. See the format for deep links that work in the App Store version: Deep Links

This is odd because watching Fellowship of the Ring (4k, HDR, 24p) last night it was immediately obvious to me that I accidentally opened “old plex” due to stuttering, and switching to Preview made it smooth again!
I still think there is some stuttering even on this new version. Particularly panning shots imo arent as smooth as when viewed on Infuse. It is much better than it was however, but still not quite at infuse level imo.
Really need to fix the blown out HDR as it makes it unusable for me when watching movies, can hardly see it due to how overly bright it is.
Please can we fix pressing the back button to close the OSD not exit playback?

BUG Report: Apple TV Latest Preview App Version “Low Volume”
- Fresh instal of latest TVos Version of Preview App.
- Played same 4k content (4k HDR10 - HEVC Main 10/TrueHD 7.1) on local network via both existing Plex TV App and Preview App.
Resulted in both playing the content with the same audio codec (Multichannel PCM 7.1)
BUT… The volume on the new Preview App is dramatically lower. at least 50% lower
And there you have it True HD 7.1 channel
Just downloaded the Apple TV preview for the first time and I can’t seem to access anything in my library at all. Am I missing something really obvious or this is a really huge bug?
Across the top of my screen, I see the options for Home, Libraries, Live TV, etc. Choosing “Libraries” briefly showed me a list of my libraries across the top, but once I chose one, that list of libraries scrolled off the top of the screen, leaving me with a screen showing an empty playlist, a set of “recent playlists,” and a set of collections I’ve made. I am unable to select any of these things.
I can move the selector across the top of the screen and choose other sections such as “Live TV,” but going back to “Libraries” only takes me to that same screen where I am unable to view my list of libraries or scroll down to highlight or select anything else on the screen under “Libraries.”
I see some icons along the left side of the screen, but I am unable to highlight or select any of them either. I’ve tried force-quitting and restarting the app but the same thing happens.
This is client 2025.8.2 (918).
Build 2025.8.2 has some sort of bug with the surround mix. The center channel is way too quiet compared to the rest of the mix, resulting in muffled sounding voices, especially with music or sfx going on. Extremely noticeable in something like The White Lotus which always has a music bed going.
Also, I am periodically getting crashes. Once every few hours.
I rolled back to build 2025.7.0 to confirm that it did not have this bug. These two same issues were happening in the experimental builds of the previous Apple TV app (8.46 build 9706), so I think something from that work got merged into the new experience.
Bit of a longshot but one thing i would quite like would be the ability to use external players when playing media, i really like the plex interface but infuse just works better for me when playing media, dolby vision support, dolby atmos dupport and lip sync is always perfect, so my ideal solution would be to browse and find something to watch via plex, hit play, infuse plays it, playback finishes, im now back in plex.

Didn’t see it mentioned as missing… but there is no “more info” on 3-dot menu on items. More info shows you file names, file size, resolution, codecs, bitrates, etc.
Sounds like this is a bit controversial, but I think Plex apps should be the same visually across all platforms… I don’t think Plex on Apple devices should mean it matches Apple’s standard player views (AVPlayerViewController)
This was one thing that always annoyed me going between Apple TV and Android TV. Completely different means to navigate the player and change playback settings
That’s just like, your opinion, man. 
I think the point is that there is a higher percentage of users that flip between different apps within a single ecosystem, such as Apple TV, than there are users flipping between Apple TV and Android.

Exactly…the other issue with making the app the same across platforms is you end of developing for the lowest common denominator. If a feature of a streaming device isn’t available on one device but is on the rest, it ends up not being available on any device. Just dumb.

They released an app with issues that are reported multiple times there. Why? Only they know.
AV1 is transcoding on Apple TV.
Live TV (from TV tuner) is also transcoding on Apple TV.
Old app didn’t had any of this problems.
Also, if you have music album and movie in the same collection you can view the album but can’t listen on app.
Why they can’t remove this option then?
Shame.

The backdrop / background / fanart picture for any server content still isn’t displayed on the content’s page. Background is a gradient of colours and that’s it. Problem only occurs on the ATV app.
Browsing non-owned content in Discover mode or in the Watchlist displays the background picture correctly most of the time but sometimes it flickers and simply disappears after a second or two.

Don’t think I could see it in the list but video info is missing as well and streaming info “Technical Details” is missing.
Love the new option side menu, but wouldn’t mind more “geek” features and even some “Plex dash” features for the more stat and server lovers.
Miss the video resolution on the episode list as well. Have to tap into it. Also missing option to swipe between seasons without having to jump back.
UI flow much cleaner and nicer though. Always torn between current app and preview.
There is no way to choose between “editions” (ie directors cut, theatrical etc) in the new app.
