"Currently Watching" list

I was wondering if there plans to be a grid as the title says - something that you can pin shows to so that you can access them quickly in the home screen, without having to search through a library to get to the show you’re currently watching. The Continue Watching feature sort of works, but if you finish an episode, then it won’t show up in that list. Unless I’m missing a feature?

Thanks!

That must be a bug.

Continue Watching will show the next episode that’s up.
Provided you added the tv show in a library of the type “TV Shows” and not just “Other Videos”.
Do also verify that your episodes have a “Released at” date.

Interesting - this has been the behavior I’ve seen since I started using Plex many moons ago! I just a random sample of 5 different shows, all within my library for “TV Shows”, they all have a release date in the metadata. It seems to show the next episode that is not complete. For example, I just finished an episode of Futurama, S02E10. The episode that showed up in Continue Watching is S04E08, halfway through, as apparently I stopped watching that one midway through… Is that expected behavior? If I hadn’t had any “non-complete” episodes of Futurama, would it have shown S02E11?

Do all the episodes need to be marked Unwatched in order for the Continue Watching feature to work as you describe? I hate that little orange triangle lol so I always mark everything Played when I add it

That’s correct. For continue watching to pick the next episode up, the show needs to be unwatched. Alternatively you can watch the 1st 1-2 min of the next episode – that way you’ll always get that showing in the continue watching hub.

If you want to re-watch a show, change it’s “played” status to “unplayed”.
You can do that for a whole show/series/season at once, so it’s not that much of a deal.

@OttoKerner @tom80H Gotcha, that makes sense. Thanks for the insight!

2021 clean-up: implemented (continue watching, handling w/ previously watched items)
