I want to tag some music as Christmas Music, first, I have use local data checked, but it still seems to pull from where Plex finds tags. Second, even if I edit a song and set it to Christmas Music and rescan, this is not in the drop down when searching on genres. Lastly, I would like to just be able to play music in a particular genre, is this possible?
There is a dedicated setting just for Genre. In the properties of the library, on the Advanced tab.
I found the item for genre use local tags, but after I change it, and the scan completes, when I go to the music library and try to search on genre, Christmas Music still doesn’t show up in the list.
Also, is there a way to specify a playlist based on genre?
You need to “Refresh Metadata”, not “Scan Library Files”.
Start with a few affected albums.
Nope, just refreshed the metadata on a file that has the genre set as Christmas Music, and that still does not appear in the drop down.
And, is there a way to play all music from a specific genre?
