Is there a way to do it for QNAP, I recently got myself a new QNAP 464 a few days ago and the subtitles turn out to be horrible. For many years, I use Plex Media Server on Windows that plays directly to my Nvidia Shield/Firestick/PC with no issues so I’ve decided to move Plex over to QNAP so that I can leave my QNAP running 24/7 and turn my main PC off. Now I wish I haven’t done that because I couldn’t find a solution to this Font Styling issue.
I’m tempted to move back to Windows and return this QNAP but willing to wait a few more days before my 30 days of free returns runs out with Amazon Prime ![]()
This HowTo is only pertaining to certain Plex clients (which, are named in the first post above).
The Plex client on an nVidia Shield does not belong to that list, though.
QNAP is not a player, so I don’t understand what the question is.
If your Plex server is running on a QNAP NAS device, you are free to use one of the client types which are discussed in this HowTo – thus enabling you to customize the subtitles to your liking on these clients.
I’m using Windows Plex Player. Is there any way to change the subtitle’s font face and type?
Only for unstyled subtitle formats – i.e. SRT does work, while ASS does not.
