Daily restart of Plex process on QNAP TS-877

I can see you’re restarting PMS a lot in these 5 logs (it only keeps the most recent 5 log files — so caution is advised here).

In the one which shows the butler

02:01 – it starts
– does it’s things

then the log ends sometime later because the next timestamp is 09:00

Not sure what’s going on there because I don’t even see a crash upload.

Hi Chuck, yes having to restart PMS regularly. Things worked fine for a few days and then the last two it needed restarting again. Looking at the resource monitor, all I saw for PMS was a sleeping “Plex Script Hos” process. After restarting PMS I see four processes, “Plex Media Serv” and “Plex Tuner Serv” with two ‘script hos’ alongside.

I already enabled the debug info in PMS. If there are no clues in those logs, are there any on the QTS? The notification centre just records me stopping/starting PMS and no mention of anything else.

QTS is still on the latest v4, I see that v5 is being offered as an update again, but its still 5.0.0 and I was hoping to wait a bit before going up.

Any suggestions would be welcome - no other services are breaking, QTS web login keeps working, SMB fileshare, containers etc.

I’ve been using QTS 5.0 now through several firmware updates.

I’ve found QTS 5.0 to be pretty darn stable.

Plex-wise, I’ve got everything in shape and ready to go.

I’m still planning to get the logs for this…still getting crashes on QTS 5.0 and the latest version of Plex.
