Deck - Accessing Trailers

Hi,

 

Could someone please help me please I appear to have a strange issue occurring within plexconnect where when I select deck I accessing trailers and no content shows so deck is not working within plexconnect.... all though functionality is working.

 

Has anyone else experienced issues with deck working on plexconnect?

 

Hope someone here will be able to help me out?

I have the same issue with my on deck section of my series. Movie works just fine but the series isn’t working. I’m running the latest PMS non-plex-pass-version and the latest PlexConnect from Github. No errors in the log files or anything. Also the first screen where the posters scroll by works in my movie section but not with the series.

I had a similar problem with TV Series - On Deck. I used the Plex web client to do a My Library > More > Optimize and that fixed it.

My theory is that the metadata for one of the shows or series was corrupted. Might be worth a try. Good luck!

I tried the optimize-approach, it didn’t work. It seams that there is some kind of hang or parser-bug becaus the request looks the same on the movies-section. Also the output looks the same but application.js is never called, which is the case in my movies-section.

I would gladly post logs but I don’t see any errors. Do I have to ten debugging on in PlexConnect? And do you need logging of PMS aswell? Maybe also some Apache reverse proxy logging? Tell me what you need and I will give it gladly!

Same applies here, what do you require.... would love this issue to be fixed

Any chance to shut down Apache for a test and run PlexConnect "natively"? How does it work than - same issue?

I would gladly post logs but I don't see any errors.

Just because the log shows no errors doesn't mean there isn't a problem. Things like missing metadata can cause the xml page to fail. If you post the PlexConnect log at the point when the page fails to load I can look at it and see if any metadata is missing and help you more.

Do I have to ten debugging on in PlexConnect? And do you need logging of PMS aswell?

Only need the PlexConnect.log and in Settings.cfg set loglevel to High

I've tried it without the Apache Reverse Proxy, no dice.

I've uploaded the PlexConnect.log-file with settings as posted below. The logfile is from the on-deck-item in the menu. Section 1 in PMS is my movies, Section 2 is Series.

rippiedoos, looking at your log I can see that the recently added section of the On Deck view is empty and causing the error, this leads me to think your version of PMS is out of date please grab the latest version from http://plexapp.com/getplex/ and try it again. Older versions of PMS don't support the stack function that's used by PlexConnect.

I'm currently running on version 0.9.7.28.33, the latest version for plex for me. And my Movies-section is correctly working, inlcuding on-deck, but the Series isn't. And when I browse my Libraries, the movies-section is correctly displaying al the posters for my movies, but again, my series isn't.

Umm.. looking at your log again, you definitely have the symptoms of using an old version of PMS. Look at lines 887 to 1597 in your posted log, this is the returned xml for the recently added section, it contains keys, but these should all be keys, which is what is causing the error. This isn't a PlexConnect problem, it's a PMS problem. Try creating a new TV Show library section and add a couple of shows to it and then test that new section with PlexConnect to see if it works.

OK, got it working again.

 

I've upgraded to 0.9.8.4 and the section was working again. However, not after the change that I had to use the built-in DNS-server again and the built-in webserver. Somehow after the loading of application.js, the custom solution with my own DNS-server and my own Apache Reverse Proxy, PlexConnect stopped working.

 

I looked in the application.js-file and one of the first lines is that it is loading a page on the domain aTV.PlexConnect. So if your environment can't resolve or serve aTV.PlexConnect, which has to resolve to the webserver, PlexConnect isn't working. So I either missed the atv.plexconnect-dns-settings or my git pulls where just 1 day too quick.

"atv.plexconnect" is a new virtual host to reduce dependency on "trailers" in the XML templates/js files. The solution is to also add this into your re-routing... examples are available in a coupld of threads already.
