Slight problem with TV Shows On Deck with newest PlexConnect

  • Your ATV model (2 or 3) and firmware version (found under the ATV settings > general > about > Apple TV software): ATV3 5.3

  • The DNS server set on the ATV (found under the ATV settings > general > network > DNS):10.0.1.6

  • The device and operating system (including version number) that PlexConnect is installed on: MacBook Air / OS 10.8.4

  • The local IP address of the device that PlexConnect is installed on: 10.0.1.6

  • The device and operating system (including version number) that the Plex media server (PMS) is installed on: MacBook Air / OS 10.8.4

  • The Plex media server (PMS) version number you are running (**do not put 'latest'**): 0.9.7.28.33-f80a4a2

  • The local IP address of the device that the Plex media server (PMS) is installed on: 10.0.1.6

  • The PlexConnect version number. If using Github source then a time and date of download (look at the creation date of the folder) and if you are using any testing branch e.g. the Elan/PlexInc one.: Just did a clean install from source on 6/29 4:58 PM eastern time

  • The content of your 'Settings.cfg' file (if you do not have this file you are running an old version, please update)

  •

    A detailed description of the issue (the clearer you can make this the better):
    When I originally tested the Elan version of PlexConnect to see the UI that he had, I could highlight a TV Show in the On Deck section, press play, and the show would immediately play.  When I try this on the newest PlexConnect, I get an error message: No Response from Plex Media Server.  If I highlight the show and press OK, it takes me to the pre-play screen.  Then I can play it from there just fine.  Not a showstopper, but it would be nice to be able to just press play from the On Deck screen for TV shows.  A quick check of Movies On Deck seemed fine.  Played right from the On Deck when I pressed play.

I think I read this version pulled the play command option for now.

You did? Where?

I can't see a reason for that... but then again, to much XML, python and .JS for today!

I think there may be mixing up of the pulling of the music section stuff or am I just tired as well…

  • Fix for TS playback issues?

I presumed that change was the part that broke that.
