its DSM 6
DSM 6 is a bit of a manual pain – especially when it’s remote.
Can you SSH into it?
If so, I can give you what you need via the command line (copy paste)
yes can ssh in
I would like you to do the following.
Now open a new browser tab to Claim | Plex
It will give you a claim token… COPY it (click the button)
Return to the SSH prompt.
Type:
curl -X POST 'http://127.0.0.1:32400/myplex/claim?token=PASTE_CLAIM_TOKEN_HERE'
It will look like
curl -X POST 'http://127.0.0.1:32400/myplex/?token=claim-xxxxxxx'
Hit enter.
It will take 15-20 seconds and then you’ll see a bunch of flag names printed (about 12-13 lines)
it will end with </MyPlex>
This confirms it is claimed to you.
Lastly open the Syno by its IP address.
Thank you for your help. I’ll do this later tonight and then let you know the results.
Thanks again
Wow! I just use this solution and now It work for me!
this is my situation incase anyone curious
Many thanks to @ChuckPa , your detailed solution save my day, that post request really took long time which kinda make me worry but it eventually made it ![]()
yes, the reply to curl -X POST can take some time.
As long as you don’t get an error, it will make it.
Worked great! Thanks again
Is PLEX working on an automated fix for those of us running DSM 6? I’ve tried the method that you’ve outlined above but I am not having any success with it. I’m not a network manager and very much a noob when it comes to networking in general.
I’m willing to wait a few days until an automated solution can be done…perhaps by going in and changing the password but I’ve been frustrated by this for a day now and would like to know that a solution will be forthcoming.
