I typically use Plex on my Samsung TV. I didn’t use it for some time and it wasn’t finding my video files when I tried again. Long story short - Now Plex seems to be working properly on my Windows 11 laptop. It correctly shows that I have a lifetime pass and joined Plex in 2017. The Plex app on my TV seems to have all of my video files, but there’s a link at the top encouraging me to sign up for “Premium”. My profile on the TV shows I have been a member for a couple of days and have watched only one movie. I tried logging out of the TV app and logging in again, but I get the option of entering a code in my browser or a QR code, neither of which updates the app to show my lifetime membership since 2017 and the mountain of movies I have watched over the years. Can someone tell me how to get the profiles in both Plex versions to show the same information? Thanks
Do you have multiple accounts? You do not have “Plex Pass” by your forum name.
If so, make sure you are logging in to the TV with the Plex Pass account.
If not, contact Plex Billing. They should be able to straighten things out. Use the Billing Questions link at the bottom of the page.
Thanks for responding. As I pointed out I tried signing out of Plex on the TV and was not offered a way to log back in using my crededtials. How do I do that?
You login to the Plex TV app by using the displayed code at plex.tv/link or by scanning the QR code (which does the same thing).
But before doing that…
Do you have multiple Plex accounts?
If yes, might you be logging in to the Plex TV app with an account different than the one that has claimed the server? That would explain why it asks you to sign up for a Premium membership.
When you go to plex.tv/link to enter the code displayed by the TV, look below the Link button. It will display “You’re signed in as username.” If that is the wrong username, then click “Sign in as a different user.”
There is currently only one server on this user account, which was created ~4 days ago.
Which makes me believe that there is actually a second user accont, which has your server currently claimed.
However, your web browser is not logged into that account.
Take a look into your old emails to find out which email account you have used back then.
If you cannot untangle this, take @FordGuy61 's advice and write to https://www.plex.tv/contact/?option=billing-issues#p-contact
