New account with lifetime pass but my Tv and mobile will only log in to my old account

Hello.

I just got the lifetime plex pass so that i can watch my movies on holidays etc. It seems to be fine on my iMac, samsung tablet and Qnap server. However, i cannot get it on my smart tv or phone. Every time i log in it will only log in to my old account. I can see my new account in ‘friends’ section from the old account but cannot access or log in to it. I’ve been trying for hours signing in and out but the only option for signing in is a QR code that just logs me straight back in to my old account and its driving me crazy.

Unfortunately i am not in any way tech savvy and really struggle with even very, very basic stuff so even looking on line is way too confusing for me to be able to try and figure it out.

Very stuck, please help!!

You have two accounts, correct? An old account without a Plex Pass and a new account with a Plex Pass.

Have you claimed the Plex Media Server with the new account?

Regarding the Smart TV:

The QR code should take you to the “Link Account” page and display a 4 digit code and a “Link” button (it does so with my LG TV).

Below the button it should say “You are signed in as …” and “Sign in as a different user.”

Make sure you are signed in using the desired account.
