Docker VS unraid App

How can I know which Plex server I should use between docker and unraid app?

I looked for an Unraid app for Plex and all I saw were videos about how to install Plex as a Docker container on Unraid.

This video’s a good one - Transcoding with an Nvidia GPU & Unlocking it for Maximum Streams in Plex, Emby & Jellyfin - YouTube

That’s why I am asking here.

There is not a lot of information about the unraid plex app

I’m not an Unraid user but all I’ve seen for Unraid were Docker containers. I’ve queried a friend who runs Unraid and Plex.

Meantime I’d just go with Docker. I know on my Synology NAS running Plex in a Docker container allows me to use Synology’s hardware transcoding. I don’t think that’s possible in the Plex native application for Synology.

And my friend says, “As far as I know, it’s only docker contain er. Never tried to install anything. Another approach”.

I have been running Unraid using Binhex docker container for several years and has been very stable. Go on YouTube and look for spaceinvaderone. He has many Unraid tutorials including how to setup Plex.

I am not asking to know how to install Plex.

I just wanted to know how can I know which Plex server I should use between docker and unraid app.

Like, is there any performance difference or a better stability, etc…

So far all indications point to there being no unraid app rather unraid uses Docker containers. Not sure why you seem to be so much against using Docker.

In my experience both with Synology apps and Docker images running under Synology the latter are rock solid and consume fewer resources. YMMV.

I just misunderstood.

The app is not really a app.

It is just a docker will some parameter already applied.

So, there is not unraid app.
