With the release of the 60th anniversary specials, Doctor Who begins a new grouping of release dubbed Doctor Who (2023), TMDB has the correct entries, but I can’t pick them up from watch.plex.tv.
We’re trying to get TVDB to update it correctly as well.
At the risk of sounding older than I am… why do they need a new release grouping and don’t continue the existing one?
I understood why they made a new entry from 2005 onward as that was a reboot. The 60th anniversary specials and upcoming season seem to be a direct continuation of that reboot.
Consider me to be confused. 
Who knows, but it it listed on BBC One as such
Try → Doctor Who {tmdb-239770}/S00E01.mp4 if you want tmdb episode ordering.
The series does not have a year yet (2023) as these are specials and tmdb only starts the years when season 1 comes out which has not yet for this show. So the hint matching of 2023 won’t work.
Which explains why TMDb will follow suit… it’s new because the BBC homepage says so 
Matching isn’t the issue. It’s the link to Discovery for streaming that’s an issue.
Ah okay. Don’t use discover myself.
Episode only aired yesterday, maybe plex.tv needs a bit of a time to catchup.
As far as I understood it, these 14th David Tennant specials are still part of the Doctor Who (2005) grouping.
The “Season 1” nomenclature will be used beginning with the first regular episode of Ncuti Gatwa’s doctor.
I know, it’s confusing, because they’re essentially all advertised together.
The TVDB has this listed as part of the main show (2005) as a special

The TMDB is a bit of a mess IMO. They have this as part of a completely different show (4 episodes). It doesn’t even have a date like the (1963) or (2005) show. If you list it as (2023) it matches to some other show “Doctor Who: Unleashed”
I had to use the tmdb id in the fix match and it pulls the right show poster but nothing else. That might take time to fill in, but there’s still an overall matching issue people are going to struggle with

I do expect tmdb folks to stick to their rules and as BBC themselves have called this Doctor Who (2023-) and given it its own dedicated page BBC One - Doctor Who (2023–) it’ll be a separate show on their site.
So, there is no way for Plex to fix this till TMDB figures out what they’re doing?
Appears to work fine under the 2005 iteration as:

Doesn’t for me. Shows up as something else.
Shows up as an episode called Waking The Dead
My bad… Looking at how “I” had it loaded, and failed to see they were looking for it in Discover.
I just wanrt it to pick up the correct metadata.
I matched my filename and path to match yours and Plex is still picking it up as Waking The Dead.
If your using tmdb episode ordering then rename it like this.

It appears the default Plex TV scanner is using TMDB.
