I have used Plex for a long time, and on different computers. Now I am finding I am just about out of options… My Username I would like is my FirstName-LastName. Plex says it is already used. WTF!!! it is me.
I tried registering a new account, one I had from a few years ago. And my email address is being used so I can’t use that.
Does anyone clean out the servers from all the garbage and redundant field entries? Maybe at least once a decade???
You don’t need to make a new account for every computer you use. an account with your First-Last already exists because you created it 2 years ago. You can’t create another account with same info. It shows you added the dash between first and last today.
( it’s the very same account you are using this forum with. the forum just has not updated the username with dash yet)
Actually…no? Aside from super popular MMO games where character names are a big deal, pretty much no online entities have policies to purge accounts due to inactivity. User databases are now so optimized that innactive accounts are no longer a resource drain worth bothering over. They also provide statistics like recording returning users.
