Does PLEX allow for “sorting” by directory name?

I sort all my videos by year, month and the event…i.e.: 2019 June Singapore Trip.

I’d like to be able to sort based on directories where I can sort first by year (top level directory) then month (June) then event (Singapore Trip).

I know you can sort by “date” but I want to sort by my own directory name but don’t see that option.

Is sorting by “directories” possible?

Not in the exact way you have described.
You might want to look into displaying that particular library in folder view.

Alternatively you could organize your media as a „personal media tv series“. That’ll however require your media to be restructured/reorganized. To match your specification you could go for 1 „show“ per year with up to 12 seasons (1 per month). In such a setup each event could be an episode. That being said… it doesn’t strike me as an ideal approach.

Not entirely sure I understand the question but I have my home videos organised into folders. The folders are topics like birthdays and holidays. In the folders the files are named just like yours. The home videos are in an ‘other videos’ library.

The default view is a mess when going into the library but where it says ‘movies’ in the header bar I get collections and folders as options when i click it. The folder view does all I need. Sorting is alphabetical. This is the Plex media player on windows. I have found the same view in the android app in the past but it was never easy to find. Not checked if it still does it.
