Organising family videos

Hi,
I have created a top level folder for family videos and have organized each sub-folder e.g. [event] [month/year]. Plex obviously can’t apply it’s usual magic, since these are family videos of holidays, etc. which it doesn’t recognize, and so it displays them by sorting on the video file name, which is straight from a camcorder and is meaningless. Is there any way please for me to tell Plex to sort these sub-folders by my folder name?

you should be able to change the “view” via Plex web and change it to “Folder View”:

but even there you will see your movie listed by its bare name (behind the folders)

Thanks for the reply. I only have three views (grid, list and summary). I’ll have to figure out why that is, but appreciate the response.

You’re right… folder view is only considered for „non-personal“ media
