Does Plex still support iTunes Library import?

I’m interested in making the transition from iTunes to Plex once and for all, and if it goes smoothly, get a lifetime Plex Pass. For that, I need to do a one-time import of all iTunes playlists, play counts, and that sort of thing. I’m having a hell of a time trying to figure it out because there seems to be a lot of conflicting documentation and support threads.

So far, I have enabled the iTunes plugin in Settings > Plugins and added the correct iTunes library path. If I understand correctly, this plugin is confusingly, separate from Settings > Manage > Plugins, which apparently have since been discontinued?

Anyway, according to this thread, if I click on the vertical ellipsis menu for “Playlists” and I’m lucky, there will be an option to “Import from iTunes,” but I don’t see that option. I only have an option to pin/unpin. Can anyone shed some light on this?

Notably, Plex markets itself as an iTunes replacement with “Easy to import play history, ratings, and playlists from iTunes” but so far that remains to be seen…

Very bizarre. I swear I looked there when I was poking around earlier and it wasn’t there… but when I checked just now, I do see that option. I was tinkering with the iTunes plugin settings between then and now though, so I’m not sure if that had anything to do with it. Thank you!

Well, that option is certainly, there, but I still can’t get iTunes import to work. I enabled the plugin, added the XML file location, and when I create a library and select the “import from iTunes” option, it imports all my music files, but none of the iTunes data or playlist with no indication of what’s missing.

Im also having this problem. Have tried so many things to get the playlist to show up. Its getting so frustrating. I can never get the “Import from Itunes” context menu to come up from clicking the “…” on the playlist label.

Ya, I gave up on this because I unfortunately was not able to get any import from iTunes to work.
