Does streaming to Chromecast ignore quality settings from Android App?

I’ve noticed that when streaming to a Chromecast from a remote location, that the player settings seem to be ignored, and by default, even when Direct Play/Stream is disabled in the Android app settings, the following is seen from the streaming logs:

videoDecision=“copy”

Manually setting the ‘Remote Streaming’ quality to something lower than what the file is will then force it to transcode.

Also, does the Chromecast fuly support adaptive quality yet? Documentation doesn’t appear to be updated & seems somewhat hit&miss whether it does or not.
