Dolby True HD issues with Nvidia Shield

Server Version#: 1.21.4.4079
Player Version#: 8.13.1.23036

Nvidia Version#: 8.2.2

Hello everyone,

i have some issues watching my bluray 4k Akira. The Dolby True HD jap stutter sometimes.
It’s noticable at 6:30
The audio in this bluray is a little bit special in the way that’s a Dolby True HD 24/196khz
I haven’t any other audio like that so i can’t do any much more.
Just to make sure the Bluray works fine with VLC didn’t try on kodi yet, and Dolby True HD works well on other film.
And the movie is not transcode of course.

I was aware that a update 8.1.x fix it but unfortunately it doesn’t work for me.

So i just wanted to know if i’m the only one with this problem.

Please forgive any mistakes

Here is the bluray :

So i am the only one.

No, you’re not. A lot of us have brought this issue up, and the issue was “tweaked” but not completely fixed. Reason to believe that it’s a SHIELD issue, because I have tried a 7.1 media on just the Plex App on the TV w/Soundbar… and no problems. Noticed the Shield Dolly Atmos issue after the latest Shield 8.2 update. (shrug)

I have the same Shield Pro 2019
Onkyo RZ series receiver w/ LF, C, RF, LS, RS, LFE

Plex App set for Passthrough.

No issues.

Everything, including 59.94 FPS 2160p with TrueHD , plays.

DEBUG log files capturing this issue will be needed.

Thank you for your response.

I checked some log on the plex media server and that’s what i saw :

Mar 14, 2021 12:50:07.393 [0x7fe832a92700] VERBOSE - WebSocket: processed 1 frame(s)

Mar 14, 2021 12:50:08.749 [0x7fe832a92700] VERBOSE - WebSocket: processed 1 frame(s)

As a reminder the movie Akira run well on kodi or VLC so for me it’s an issue from Plex.
TrueHD/Atmos or whatever works fine with Plex or other app
I think it may come that the audio tracks is in Sampling rate : 192 kHz

If you need more logs just tell me how and what you need.

Just found this topic and would like to add that I am experiencing exactly the same issue as @elcrabito.

Japanese TrueHD 24 Bit / 192 kHz Audio Track stutters on a 2019 Shield Pro 8.2.2. using latest Plex Server + Plex App. Easily replicated between 6:00 - 6:30, always the same spots.

I was also confused by others mentioning the 8.1.x Fix fixed this particular issue. So now I am thinking that it might have been fixed in the past, but then came back with a later firmware update.
