Don't get German metadata for TV-Series "Eureka"

I don’t get the german metadata vor the TV-Series “Eureka” from thetvdb. With the “fix match” function i can set the language for example to french and i get the french metadata. But if set to german, I only get the english metadata. But at thetvdb itself i can find the german metadata.

Can someone else reproduce this?

Nobody?

Let’s keep this in english, or move the thread into the german section.

Try this https://support.plex.tv/articles/202967376-clearing-plugin-channel-agent-http-caches/
Then “Fix Match” again.

Thx, but I’ve tried this multiple times.

Can you post the content of the guid property, from one of the episode’s Plex XML info?

@OttoKerner apologize for the late reply, i’ve overlooked the email notification about this.

I’ve tried again to delete the cache and “Fix Match” again but nothing changes about the last days.

Here are the guid propertis from S01E01:

 guid="com.plexapp.agents.thetvdb://79334/1/1?lang=en"
parentGuid="com.plexapp.agents.thetvdb://79334/1?lang=en"
grandparentGuid="com.plexapp.agents.thetvdb://79334?lang=en"

For whatever reaseon, the language flag is english. But at “Fix match” i alway choose german.

The series “You” has the same behavior by the way. Choosen german at “Fix Match”, but in the XML:

guid="com.plexapp.agents.thetvdb://336924/1/1?lang=en"

You must be doing something wrong…
I created You just as a test, and Plex picks up everything fine here, no need for fix match or anything.

My naming scheme is
You (2018)/Season 01/You (2018) - S01E01.ext
Is German the language of the library?

Yes my library language is german.

My naming scheme is:
You/Season 1/ You - S01E01 - Pilot [1080p EAC3-5.1].mkv

That is exactly correct, but there are about a million shows with ‘You’ in the name. This one may be a candidate for the (YEAR) field as @Coxeroni has indicated and/or a perpetual Fix Match.

It might have something to do with either your browser, your internet filter or your server.

Try this:

  1. ‘unmatch’ the show
  2. clear the cache of the agent(s) https://support.plex.tv/articles/202967376-clearing-plugin-channel-agent-http-caches/
  3. refresh the web app in your browser
  4. ‘match’ the show, by giving the search term “you du wirst mich lieben”, and selecting Agent=TheTVDB and language=Deutsch, (giving ‘year’ was not necessary in my test). This will give you exactly 1 search result, which is the german title. Click it and wait at least 1 minute.

That might be the problem for “You”, but not for “Eureka”. But I will try to add the Year.

I just tried the unmatch/match cycle with Eureka Seven on my server and it matched just fine in german.

1 Check the health of your database:

  1. activate debug logging (not ‘verbose’!)
  2. quit Plex Server
  3. wait 1 minute
  4. start Plex Server
  5. wait 5 minutes
  6. fetch log files and attach them here

Or inspect them yourself. Take a look at the Plex Media Server.log file and seek for messages about database corrupt or malformed.
If you find these, you may have to repair your database.

make sure that your server machine has accurate date+time

disable temporarily any internet filters you may be using

Hey, I came across the subject by chance because I had the same problem for a short time.

The solution to the problem is that you are not looking for the “Eureka” assignment but “Eureka - The Secret City”. Then you also get German meta data.

Translated from German to English :slight_smile:

Can’t confirm that.
If you use the search term ‘Eureka’, the year 2006 and language ‘German’, you get one hit, titled ‘Eureka’. This is the right one, I just tried it.

@Marvv awesome, that worked!

@OttoKerner that’s true but if u use the search term “Eureka - Die geheime Stadt” then you get this as hit and German metadata appears.

I’ve tried the same for “You” with the German search term “You - Du wirst mich lieben” and that also worked now!
