Hello everyone. I have a qeustion I hope you can help me with.
I have created a library on my Nvidia Shield Plex Server named Series. I have set the Library language to Dutch. The agent is set to TheTVDB. Then I click on scan library and 10 series or so started to appear. Most of them are correct (right title and right info metadata). Most of them have not metadata by every episode (some series have blank episode) but that is not a issue.
The problem is that by for example Westworld (With Ed Harris) I have English metadata. By that I mean the metadata about the show in general. But I looked on the site of TheTVDB and Dutch is available. I tried with fix match. By search options I type in the title, the year and TheTVDB. Also I set the language to Dutch. I hit enter and i click on “Westworld”. The image is 1 sec black and is refreshing… Only it is still English. I tried German and that works strange enough.
By a serie called Mocro Maffia the TheTVD agent collects no info at all. It stays black even when Dutch AND English are available.
When I tried TheMovieDB as a agent it is in both cases Dutch. So TMDB works. But I was wondering what the issue is with TheTVDB?
Can someone help me with this language metadata problem?
Thanks in advance!!
Side note: The Outsider (2020) TV show was regonized as Vikings… Whutt… Why…
Thank you @BigWheel for your quick response. No the part that is English (and what should be Dutch) is the info part. Where there is a description about the show. The episodes from all the 2 seasons are with correct dutch metadata every single one of them. In the case of Westworld it is just the “overview” I believe is the word what is wrong. It doesn’t change to Dutch.
Ah. Ok I see what you mean. I think this must be a bug and nothing you are doing wrong I see the same when I just tried it. The TVDB made some changes a few months ago to their API and I am guessing the issue is because of that.
You can manually edit it for now by clicking on the pencil icon on top right of show info page but I will make a bug report
Hello @BigWheel sorry for the late response but the time difference was the cause. Thank you for your answer and that you reproduced the problem I have. It must be a TheTVDB problem then indeed. I wil fix it manually.
One other related question. When I edit someting let’s say the description. Do I need to make the “lock icon” orange or black when I hit apply? I can remember that I have changed something a time ago and when I did refresh metadat all my text was gone and replaced with the (incorrect) default one. How do I keep my changes “protected” to this? I hope I was clear enough haha
Same here! I came across this thread by googling “plex outsider vikings”… I guess some bug rooted in the fact that Vikings has an episode called “The Outsider”…?
Hey @ScuseMe that could indeed be the case (the episode thing). But its very strange because I named my root folder The Outsider (2020) with subfolder season 1 and the epsiodes correct. And even with this it gets regonised as Vikings (a show i will check out later for sure).
I fixed it by “fix match”, “search options”, I typed by name The Outsider and hit enter. Then a search list will come up with “possible” hits. Click on The Outsider with the year 2020 and its fixed.
You should not have show folders be library/root folders if that is what you are doing. ( you might not be, just we generally call the library folders the roots)
