Double movies

I upgraded to PMS server to 1.12.1.4885 last night and now I have lots of double entries in my movies library.

I tried some of the old fixes I saw in searching from posts from years ago - https://forums.plex.tv/discussion/199925/duplicate-movies-no-duplicate-files and some other link I can’t find now.

The movie will be listed without the year of the movies below the title but says “1 movie”. I tried a refresh, refresh meta, DELETED my library and added a new library. Still does it. So far I only noticed in the Movies Library.

I have no duplicates so that’s the strange part. I have have about 130 movies I ripped of my DVDs over the years and everything has been great till this last update.

So, to fix this for now I just went into the Movies library and deleted every entry that hat was a duplicate and they all had the mnovie data of “1 movie”.

I did noticed that some of the duplicates were named some like AMERICAN_WEREWOLF_IN_PARIS where as the movie listed in PLEX is American Werewolf in Paris. Thinking this is from the originally named file from the rip and embedded in the file somewhere compared to what I named the file after rip. This is not all of the duplicates just some that I noticed.

I went through movies I could remember that were duplicates and none of them have a collection tag.

well… the collections don’t have a collection tag of their own.
you could have distinguished the duplicate entries by their labels – in the default view, movies have their release year below their poster while collections show the number of items they contain.

This would have deleted the tag too.
