How do I do this? I tried using some help on the internet.
Close the server app. Remove the app. Find the Updates folder and reinstall.
But now Im getting “there was an unexpected error loading this library.” I tried repairing the database but its not working for me. There seems to be two different db repair guides as if some major change happened in a version after 1.22x
I have almost 30TB of content and I’d rather not rebuild everything from scratch using the original 1.22.3.4392 installer.
Everything still works great if I return back to 1.29 but I don’t like the web interface for 127.0.0.1
I will gladly pay money who can solve this if you want.
PMS makes scheduled backups every 3 days or so. On my Mac, they are located next to the running database files, and the backups end with a date.
How to restore them if desired is explained in a plex article.

It does sound like the database went through a significant change that warranted two Repair articles. Let’s say instead you choose to downgrade to 1.26 or 1.28.
How to downgrade a running PMS on a Mac
Downgrading is exactly like upgrading. You quit the app and drag a different version into /Applications Here is a detailed walkthrough.
locate the PMS icon at the top right of your screen in the the Apple menu bar.
Right click or 2-fingered click on the PMS icon.
choose Quit
In Finder locate in Downloads usually the Plex Media Server app you’re trying to install.
Drag Plex Media Server into /Applications and Replace the one that’s there.
Reboot the Mac
Start PMS.
Troubleshooting
You may have to jump though some hoops to administer it or reclaim it. Clearing Safari cookies history cache and using incognito mode helps.
You may want to downgrade to such an old PMS like 1.22 that it causes database problems and won’t start. I have no idea whether that might happen, but it’s not fatal. Make sure PMS is quit and restore a database created from scheduled backup that was made when you were running that 1.22 version.
When you get errors, be sure to screenshot them and drop them into your reply along with server logs.
