Downloading Plex Movies

qq- I don’t have any media on my Mac but I am trying to build a library for my daughter. I bought the plexpass in the hopes of being able to download movies from Plex and add them to my library and then add them to my nas but for some reason I don’t have the download button. Can anyone tell me if I am doing something wrong?
Thanks so much

Plex is first and foremost for accessing your own media files. These you can then download to your playback devices in preparation for an extended period without proper internet connectivity.

On the other hand, the items in “Movies & Shows” On Plex are not your own media files. These are licensed to be watched for free, but with advertising. The license does not allow to download those items.

ok this makes sense, I have over 100 movies in iTunes but they are all protected and can’t be played on anything other that apple device, where can someone start collecting media that can be used with Plex?

Record from TV. Grab as DVD or Bluray from the bargain bin of your local shops, then rip to your computer.

ok, thanks a bunch makes sense.

sorry last question, with Verizon not allowing you to take DVR and put them on a USB and everyone having restrictions is the only option then to re-buy all these movies on DVD or Blue Ray. there is no other way to get media I guess?

There might (or might not) be. But I will not explain that in here, for obvious reasons…
