Downloads in iPad don't show subtitles (another post about it)

I saw these unanswered posts with the same problem, some of them 2 years old. But the issue remains. I’m using Plex on an iPad.

When I stream a movie, I can choose subtitles (downloaded, embedded, local) and it works perfectly. When I download a movie, I can’t select a subtitle. Even when finding it, the option always shows “off”.

How can I show subtitles on downloaded media using Plex for iPad?
