Running PMS on DS220+ with latest clients, when I try to access my Libraries, I get Sever is Outdated. That’s correct since the NAS has a pre-new-experience server version. So I’m trying to upgrade the Server.
I have the latest (community) version on Synology Package Center, which is pre-new-experience. I have also downloaded the latest stable (ie. non-beta) package from https://www.plex.tv/media-server-downloads/?cat=nas&plat=synology-dsm7, selecting the Intel/AMD 64-bit package. When I try to perform a manual install in DSM, after briefly spinning, it says, “This package requires DSM 7.2-70000 or older.”
I’d like to avoid Docker for now, if possible, to reduce the number of moving parts.
How can I upgrade the Server?
Thanks in advance!
Which version of DSM 7 do you have installed ?
There are two different DSM 7 packages (due to Synology versions)
DSM 7.0 & DSM 7.1 based machines use the DSM7 package.
DSM 7.2.2+ use the DSM72 package.
There are different downloads on plex.tv/downloads
Package Center will complain if you try to use the wrong one (the internal package contents are different)
DSM 7.2.2-72806 Update 3
So I guess I need to look for the DSM72 package?
That did it. Thank you!
