cannot claim server after 30 + hours.
I have used the claim process over 100 times in the install process only to open the web app (win11) firefox. to be told I need to claim the server AND IT WONT LET ME.
I have deleted the plex app from the DS and done a clean install. at least 50X today alone. Cannot claim server.
I have synced the time of the DS to all 3 options over 100X just TODAY and synced 4 separate laptops to current time. CANNOT CLAIM SERVER
This server is unclaimed and not secure AND Version 1.30.1.6562 An update is available. Please install manually.. I have done this step, also, over 100 times today.
this 30+ hour process happens after Every. Single. Plex. Update. < not joking. EVERY SINGLE TIME.
then somewhere in the process of doing the same steps over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and it randomly works. except this time. I am at 33 man hours of attempting to fix it, but this time its a “claim” issue. I have tried a clean install. claim install. starting like I have never had plex. NOTHING IS WORKING THIS TIME AND I AM TIRED. your update did this. it has worked flawlessly for MONTHS since …the last time I had to do ALL OF THIS OVER AND OVER.
the web app says I have to claim a server that. IT. WONT. LET. ME. CLAIM.
Plex Media Server must be able to communicate with hosts at plex.tv for the claim process to succeed.
Some things to check:
The NAS must use RFC-1918 compliant addressing.
10.x.x.x; 172.16.x.x to 172.31.x.x; or 192.168.x.x
Verify the default gateway is set correctly.
Set the NAS to use public DNS servers such as 1.1.1.1 (Cloudflare), 8.8.8.8 / 8.8.4.4 (Google), 9.9.9.9 (Quad 9).
Reboot your router, then reboot the NAS.
If none of the above help, please supply a set of server log files.
In Synology DSM, using File Station, navigate to the Plex Data Folder.
Right click on the Logs directory and choose “Compress to Logs.zip.”
Download the ZIP file and upload it to this thread. Drag it into the message window. It will insert at the cursor location. Alternately, you can use the upload button, the one with the arrow pointing up.
1.1.1.1 did not work. 8.8.8.8/8.8.8.4 allowed claim process (it appears), but the plex web app is just circling now for 30 min or so. Unsure what is happening. Its the activity lightning bolt.
I have. Apparently Plex is reading my directories at a very slow pace even though the DS says utilization of the processors is less than 10%. it is still going. I have also had to log out of plex on all devices as they would only see the prior server and merely say it was offline. now I am slowing seeing media added, just at a snails pace.
I appreciate you got me moving again, but I am curious as to why this happens after each plex update
