PMS on DS918+ "Failed to run the package service"

Server Version#: DS918+ DSM 6.2.3-25426 Update 3
Player Version#: PlexMediaServer-1.22.1.4275-48e10484b-x86_64_DSM6.spk

PMS has worked seamlessly for years, last night doing the update as a manual install of the PMS package and the update failed. Now, whenever I try to run the package I get “failed to run the package service”.

I have tried to remove PMS version on Synology from authorised devices, uninstalled the package, rebooted NAS, re-installed version to a known good version (PlexMediaServer-1.20.5.3600-47c0d9038-x86_64.spk).

Any idea what I can try next?

Thanks for your help so far, I have restored the db, but I got the following when logging in…

No soup for you! - You do not have access to this server

I removed the Plexonline data from the preferences.xml after stopping PMS, removing the server etc and logging out, then restarted and it all seems to be working
