Plex on Synology server stopped working

I am using Plex media server on Synology but i believe i have set up everything correctly and i even uninstalled the media server and reinstalled but its still dont show the media folders such as movies and cartoons…dont know what is wrong? I have downloaded the server from Synology CP
All other apps are working with NAS

are you on dsm 7? you should be installing the correct plex package from the plex download page.

Check folder and file permissions.

DSM 6: User plex needs read permission to the media folders.

DSM 7: System Internal user PlexMediaServer needs permission to the media folders.

Yes i am on dsm 7 and that is what i chose

i followed these steps and restarted my NAS but i still get the below when i open Plex:
No soup for you!

A few questions:

  1. LAN IP of the Syno?
  2. LAN IP of the computer you’re accessing it from (where you’re getting this message from)
  3. Confirm the network setting, emphasis on the DNS, is all pointing to the correct gateway address IPs ?

If all the above are verified correct, have you considered:

  1. Uninstall the package (use the KEEP option)
  2. Reinstall the package using the Plex Claim Token Option
    – Click “Get Plex Claim Token”
    – Copy it from the browser into the installer window
    – Click “Next” until it starts installing.
    – Waiting for about 15-20 seconds for the installer to get updated credentials
  3. Verify it shows successful installation and claim for your username.

Also post the exact version / update of dsm 7 you are on when you reply to chuck. Don’t update to the latest version if you aren’t on it. There are reports of some people having issues with the latest versions.

DSM 7.0.1-42218 Update 3: This is OK. Many systems running this release.

DSM 7.1 rc/beta: Do not use. Plex will not install.

Ya I was referring to the report that someone just reinstalled dsm and ended up on 7.1 and it is borked. Person didn’t realize it wasnt a stable release.

I’m still at the point to stay on DSM6.2.4 or upgrade to DSM7.0.1 :sweat_smile:

I have DMS 7.1-42661, both plex and jellyfin work perfect…
