DSM 7 - Just Upgraded To Point Release and All Libraries Are Missing

I upgraded to DSM 7 and reinstalled Plex just fine a couple of weeks back. I just upgraded to the latest point release and now all of my libraries are missing. After the upgrade, it acted like a new server install so I cancelled out. Now it says 0 libraries for everything. The permissions are correct as documented in DSM 7 and I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the package. What can I do to get my libraries back?

Update - It’s definitely acting like it’s a new server and it seems to think my old one no longer exists despite the two having identical names. No matter what I do, it installs as if it’s a new server and I cannot access my old data or libraries. HELP!!!

This doesn’t work. The claim token is entered and I still get the same prompt to set up a new server. My account also still shows two servers of the same name. I tried deleting the ‘bad’ one and following these steps again, but that did not help.

It definitely keeps trying to claim the ‘new’ blank server and not my old one as the ID in the URL keeps reverting to the same thing after each claim attempt. The device ID it keeps grabbing is “f25f…” which is not the one I need. The preferences.xml file also seems to be ignored as it has the right information for my old server.

The logs folder looks to be in the right place and I no longer have anything in the old DSM6 location.Logs.zip (5.4 MB)

Actually, now I’m not sure as the latest log is from last night. I’m looking in to what the issue is as I selected the default log location and it doesn’t seem to be working.

I reinstalled Plex and forced the logs to the /PlexMediaServer/AppData/Plex Media Server/Logs folder. Here is the new zip.Logs (1).zip (1.9 MB)

I just solved this. Here is what I did. I’m not sure what did it, but it’s working now. Thank you so much for your help!

  • Uninstalled Plex and with unclaim option.
  • Deleted the contents of the Log folder under /PlexMediaServer/AppData/Plex Media Server/Logs
  • Restored the entire /PlexMediaServer folder from a backup the night prior to when this all broke.
  • Installed 1.24.0.4930 (my last known good version) from here: DSM 7 - Packaging 2.0 - Forum Preview - #2 by ChuckPa - This is when the server worked again
  • Installed 1.24.1.4931 from here: DSM 7 - Packaging 2.0 - Forum Preview - #2 by ChuckPa - Still had a working server, which is different then last night.
  • Now we are back up and running!
