DTS Bitstream Streaming.

I understand that the XBOXOne does not decode DTS hence movies with DTS sound tracks need to have the DTS bitstream transcoded for playback.

Is it possible, or is it in the works for the DTS (or AC3) bitstream to be direct streamed to the XBOX, so that it can be directly outputted from the HDMI to an external device (e.g. Amp etc) for decoding.

If I use the Bluray player in the XBOXOne it can direct output the bitstream to an external device for decoding.

So is this possible or is it a feature coming soon?

PLEX uses the built in media player from Xbox.

They can only offer this (DTS / Bitstream) once Microsoft allows it for 3rd party apps.

And there is the problem => Microsoft doesn´t comment on upcoming features.

Ahh okay, thanks Mike.

Hey guys, don’t forget about the xbox uservoice feedback. If you want MS to offer a feature, request/vote for it.

Done, thanks obveron.
