I’ve searched the forums and have seen this brought up a couple times without any real resolution. Just wondering if anyone has been successful running two separate antennas with two different tuners? I know Plex can utilize multiple tuners, but from what I’ve gathered from reading through the forums, it seems to have issues using the right tuner regardless of channels you have activated for each tuner. I’m in a situation where I need to use multiple antennas to capture all of the channels in my area. Just want to make sure Plex will not try to pull grab a channel from device #1 when only device #2 can actually tune that channel. Looking for some confirmation from people in the same situation before I waste any money on extra tuners
I have not tried this, but my thought has been that I can optimize reception between my 2 antennae and my 2 tuners (Quatro and Extend) by setting each up for the best channels in two different positions and check off the best channels for those directions.
I have a similar need/question.
One antenna gets a few of the channels I want and the other antenna I have gets a few others. Not sure how to “combine” them but I’m willing to get a second tuner if that will do the trick… but can Plex handle it as Vilhelm.83 is asking?
You can choose which channels are available on each tuner. If it is weak on one of the antennas just uncheck the box.
Yeah that’s what I understand of how it’s supposed to work. But I’ve seen threads indicating it’s not working as it should. There were people having issues when they would try to tune a channel, Plex would just grab the first available tuner regardless of which channels were checked on it. Just wanted to ping the community to see if there were users running this setup with success, or if there were just a few isolated cases.
