I am having an issue where my searches are coming up with partial results if I click on a particular cast member. When I search for the actor from the search bar, it comes up with two location items for the exact same library. For example, when I search for Elisabeth Moss, I have two locations that come up. See in the attached screenshot, she has items in a total of four folders, but “Movies” shows up twice, and each of those items have completely different movies listed.
Does anyone have an idea on how to correct this without completely rebuilding my Plex server?
Sounds like you might have changed the library agent at some point but never refreshed the library metadata. This can result in some titles (and actors/directors) to be linked to different identifiers.
Refreshing the library metadata should fix that (potentially followed by optimizing your server’s database to ensure the search index is being updated).
Got it working. Had to run the library refresh a few times per library, and optimized the database, then the searching index rebuilt after a little bit of time. Searches are now working as expected. Thank you Tom80H.
