I am on the latest BETA version of Plex , that I mainly installed to fix the duplicate pics of actors overlapping with each other, however now, when searching an actor that might exist in different libraries , search results are missing or are different depending the device you search them on. Different results on Shield TV, different on LG Web os 5.0 for plex, different on web browser. I have restarted the container, cleaned bundles, optimised database quite a few times. Have checked database to see if it has been corrupted but all seem well.
I have Colin Farell in 4 libraries. Colin Farell is in 3 libraries and another Colin Farell in just one.
When searching on an android phone it shows the results from 2 library types. The rest are not shown. In order for the results from the other libraries to show I have to click on each Colin Farell library seperately.
When searching on LG Plex, the results are even worse. Only one library shown out of the 4 and the second colin farell is missing as well.
On Android TV. If I search Colin Farell it shows me only one Colin Farell but when I click on him, it asks me to choose from which library I would like results from which the other Colin Farell exists as well.

Yeap. As described on my Post, have already cleaned bundles/ optimised database/ checked if corrupt.
I bet something is wrong with the Plex apps, as each one of them produces different results.
Have a tried a full library metadata refresh? I needed to do that.

Just so I’m clear on the issue you’re reporting, could you explain what you are expecting to see?
Let’s begin with the LG app. It’s not showing the second Colin Farrell and it’s only showing results for an item from just one library. The other 3 libraries are missing from the results (all libraries are pinned).
Actor search is scoped PER library and NOT shared across libraries. It’s a long running major shortfall of the actor search implementation from plex. There are many threads and even feature requests asking for it.
Only current workaround is to have 1 single library per type but that only works for that library. For example, you can’t have TV libraries search actors from Movies libraries giving a consolidated search across your entire plex server.
I dont mind having to choose from each library to show results as it happens with android, but with LG it doesnt even give me that choice. Just shows one library.
Oh good, someone else is having the same problem! I just started to notice this yesterday.
I see multiple entries for an actor when doing a search as well.
Also, If I visit a movie details page, and then click on the Actor’s portrait, I will only see one or two movies listed, even though I have over ten movies that contain that actor.
If I then visit a movie’s detail page that does NOT show on the previous list, and click the actor’s portrait, all the previously unlisted movies are now listed BUT NOT the originally listed movies.
It is as if the actor is being seen as two separate actors, however the names appear identical.
