Server Version#:1.15.3.876
Player Version#:ANDROID, BROWSER
Duplicate server selectable for both server & clients as well as shown in dashboard status. Additionally, “No Soup For You” appears until the server is refreshed multiple times before found.
same issue here, only fix i have at the moment is to log out log in, i might try installing an older version of the server soon if they dont fix it… which i doubt they will…
Thanks for the reply, I wasn’t aware that this was a known issue. I get these options and messages whether I logged out and in or not. There has to be a registry pointer or something somewhere that is allowing Plex server to advertise the same server twice. Hopefully they can take a few minutes to take a look and let us know because I know it can’t be that difficult.
if you can find it, install Plex-Media-Server-1.11.3.4803-c40bba82e… just tested and it works fine, iunno if there are really any features they added that make upgrading worth it tbh, so im just downgrading and staying there… never had issues till the latest builds.
Thanks for the info and all of your effort researching this. For now I’m going to wait until someone in Plex support finds this thread and provides us with assistance. I don’t want to jump the gun and install an older version because in my experience, that can sometimes cause other issues moving forward. For example; place markers, registry entries, HTML values, etc… that are left behind in the uninstall and thus may cause future updates or Plex functionality to fail. Let’s keep our fingers crossed that Plex is paying attention this this thread and will provide us a solution sooner rather than later. Thanks again!
Thank you for the suggestion, but this solution doesn’t even scratch the surface surrounding the issues with Plex media server. Please refer to my previous screenshots and error descriptions.
I actually just did - thank you. It seems to have resolved the server-side issues regarding the duplicate Plex media server. Would you also know how to resolve the issue surrounding the Android-based apps seeing 2 servers (and sometimes not being able to connect because of it)?
Absolutely. Thank you again for your assistance with this! As you can see, there exists both a music share (that was removed a few weeks ago) and a duplicate movie share that exists. BTW, there has always only been one server.
Thank you. Question; how would I go about signing the Android app out of my Plex account? I’m not presented with any sign out option(s), only switch account. I did force the Plex app to stop and rebooted, but to no avail.
…just when I thought I knew the Plex app inside and out, someone like yourself keeps me humbled! That worked, so I want to thank you again for your help with these issues.
If that fixes it. Does Plex intend to resolve the issue instead of having a bandaid solution? I would kill for a server end application that doesn’t use a web browser also… chrome is sucking more and more but I hate IE and edge. Le sigh.
