DVD Extras not appearing or not playing (please help)

Server Version#: 1.20.5.3583-309e93364
Player Version#: Roku and Android

Most of my DVD Extras are not showing up or not playing correctly. I have everything in the Other folder:

M:\Movies\Wayne’s World (1992)\Other

Extras are properly named(?):
Wayne’s World - Extreme Close-Up.mkv

Everything is .mkv

Appears and plays fine from web player and VLC.

I’ve done the Plex dance. I tried moving to other fold naming conventions i.e. Shorts. No luck. The movies seem to play.

Any ideas?

I take it the library is pointing exactly to the folder M:\Movies?

Please show the complete file list content of the folder M:\Movies\Wayne’s World (1992)\

Hi Otto -

Thank you.

Is this what you are looking for?

2

Perfect!

Am I right with my assumption that you added the path M:/Movies to the library? It would be wrong if you only added the drive letter M:/

Do you have another version/duplicate of the same movie in your library? i.e. does it’s poster have a small number shown in one corner?

HI Otto - The “M” Drive is an internal drive where I have all of my plex media (photos, movies music etc). I’m not sure what you mean by added,

I don’t have a duplicate version of that movie, although I do have Wayne’s World 2, but I get all of my naming from IMDB ex: “Wayne’s World 2 (1993)”. For what ever it’s worth this (DVD extra issues) happens with most buy not all of my movies.

Thanks again for your help! I look forward to your response.

Edit your “Movies” library,
go to the ‘Add Folders’ tab
see which path is shown there.
If it’s just M:\, it’s wrong.

Yes, this is how it’s configured:

Could you look at the Plex XML info of this movie.

The content of the guid="... property in particular.

It’ no longer showing up in Plex, but I looked it up like this:

Does this help?

Sorry, no.
I was asking about the XML from the main movie, not the extras.

I noticed that you have added the -other suffix to the file name of the extra.
This is only necessary if you place the extra into the same folder as the main movie.
If you however put it into its own Other subfolder, you omit the file name suffix.
You cannot mix these two approaches.

Sorry, yes you are correct. That was an un-corrected experiment that I tried earlier.
I’ll correct it, then I’ll pull another screen shot when I return this evening. Thank you for hanging in there with me

You might as well try the complete Plex Dance with the whole folder of this particular move.

Of course this will make it appear as a newly added movie in Plex, afterwards.

So, I tried renaming the file with extensions (File Name-short) then moved from folder (Other) back into main movie folder, then plex dance and it seems to work. My guess is that I will have to do this for all my files that are not working properly. If there is a better way, I’m all ears

Thanks again for your help!
