All of my recordings were configured to goto PlexDVR folder in TV Shows library. After adding another folder to the TV Shows library all of my pending recordings were changed to the new folder that I added to the TV Shows library
My issue is slightly different than OP, but may be related in the code. I dont really have a resolution for you, but its probably worth noting here as a related item.
I have just discovered a similar issue when adding an additional folder to my existing TV shows library in conjunction with the DVR recording saving into the new folder.
What happens for me is that when I add a new folder to an existing library, and then tell the DVR to record and put it into the new folder of the existing library, the new show/episode will not show up when browsing the original library, nor show up anywhere else when trying to browse for that show.
For example:
NCIS folder has many seasons in it already. I added a new folder to the TV Shows folder (which has the subfolder of NCIS), and told the DVR to record NCIS to the new folder. If NCIS records to the new folder, it makes a subfolder called NCIS, and I can find the episode if I search for it manually in the search bar, but I cannot browse to it via the normal way that everyone is used to (by clicking on the NCIS avatar, and then the season, and then the episode from there).
For clarity, the original TV Shows folder is: C:\PLEX_Media\TVShows and the new folder is “F:\PLEX_DVR_TVShows”. They both exist in the “Add Folders” section when you edit the Library. I have used multiple folders in the past for other libraries with no issue, but they do not receive any DVR shows. This appears to only happen with shows that have been DVR’d.
Again, the show recorded just fine, I can play it just fine so long as I search for it specifically, but I cannot browse to it so long as the DVR’d show resides in the new folder. If I move the files manually to the original folder, PLEX picks them up like normal and I can browse to them as expected.
