I’m still having this issue. Has anybody found a solution?
I’m having this issue as well. Refreshing the guide doesn’t help.
Does the scheduled recording show in the DVR Schedule but not in Recording Priority?
Would need details of what lineup/guide name, channel number/name, show. times of airings with screenshots
Was the recording setup with Limit to Airing Time?
Some server debug logs after restart may have clues together with the other info
The show is The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, airing locally on WBNS (channel 10.1) at 11:35pm weeknights.
It was showing up in both the schedule and Recording Priority, except the current day’s show - that would be missing from the schedule. The next day, that day’s show would go missing. Two or three times, I noticed that and tried to manually schedule the episode from the Guide. It acted like it was already intending to record it, then didn’t.
Advanced settings shows “Limit to Airing Time” set to “Any”.
Unfortunately the show just went on break for two weeks, so it’s off the schedule. I just changed it to include repeat airings, and that put the re-runs into the schedule. I didn’t restart first. Should I start over with a restart and send logs, or wait to see what happens Monday night?
If Plex Media Server sees the same episode is in the library then it won’t be recording it. If you had “New” and not “New and Repeats” then it would get missed if the New flag is not set in the EPG
Did you have “New and Repeats” selected in the DVR schedule settings for the series recording ?
I just checked the schedule for 10.1 WBNS on Columbia OTA lineup and i can see airings for monday 27th 23:35 EDT not having the Premiere/New flag set. The same being the case for the following days.
So if these are supposed to be new airings, then we have an error in the EPG data and I will need to refer it to our EPG provider - You would need change recording settings to be new and repeats to pick these up.
Until today I had it set to “New Airings Only”. New episodes showed as new in the guide, and on the schedule - until each one vanished, the day of airing but before the airing.
As I mentioned, the show just went on break so now only reruns are available. The EPG data seems correct to me.
After you asked me for screenshots and debug logs, I changed the setting from “New Airings Only” to “New and Repeat Airings” and the schedule went from empty to showing the upcoming reruns, starting Monday.
I’ve deleted all existing recordings of the show. What would you like me to do next?
Thanks - so the airings for 27th July onwards are actually not new and I do not need to report it as an issue to our provider?
Unfortunately i cannot check retrospectively - if the ones you lost did have the “New” indicator showing up to the last moment - then it could have been that the original air date was wrong and it found an entry in your library for that date.
For next week there would not be a media item in the library for the airings because they do have dates for next week so they would not already be in the library
If this happens again - i would need server logs taken at time of when recording was supposed to happen - with debug logging enabled
Can you give me date / time of these airings thst were ‘new’ in the epg but did not record
Correct.
7/20-7/23, 11:35 EDT.
I also had the problem for some or all of 7/13-7/17, but I hadn’t started looking at the guide yet so I can’t confirm or deny New status that week.
I have looked at the data and it looks ok with each of the airing having the right original air date
Managed to check these out
Airing - Local Time (EDT) 21 JULY 23:35 "New" Original Air Date 21 July 2020
Airing - Local Time (EDT) 22 JULY 23:35 "New" Original Air Date 22 July 2020
Airing - Local Time (EDT) 23 JULY 23:35 "New" Original Air Date 23 July 2020
Nothing in the data i saw would result in a missed recording.
I am afraid would need server logs with debug logging enabled covering period of time when a recording is supposed to happen and does not - might need increasing number of log files to go back to the time of the recording when you collect the logs

I’m having the same problem after the last PMS update. The “TVA Nouvelles” is scheduled and limits the airing time to 11:58AM (there are many other daily episodes). Even after deleting and adding the recording again, it shows “No upcoming airings”. The problem goes away if I don’t limit to the 11:58AM broadcast but there are too many daily episodes which I do not want to record.
Here are the PMS log files:

Here is the XML files as requested in your May 14 post:

Let me know if you need more data/logs.
Thanks for looking into it. If the next new episode (in a week or two) gets missed, I’ll turn on the debug stuff for the next episode after that.
Thank you - excellent diagnostics. I can see that the airing for 11:58 is not being added to the schedule.
I have passed the evidence to the development team
@dftguru I sent you an alpha build 1.20.0.3147 as potential fix for the “Limit to Airing Time” bug
Let me know how it goes and logs please for me to check
Due to some issues, we had to pull back the intended fix that was going to be in the next 1.20.0.xx beta. The plan now is to provide a fix in 1.20.1 - I will get an alpha build available when we reach that stage
So the next 1.20.0.xx beta will have same behaviour as public release 1.19.5.3112 for this issue
@dftguru I sent you today an alpha build for the 1.20.1 release - 1.20.1.3187
This changes the way the problem was addressed in the earlier 1.20.0.3147 alpha.
To use the 1.20.1 version, please delete the schedules that were created with Limit Airing Time and re-create them on 1.20.1 - This is necessary because the changes to how the issue got fixed from the earlier 1.20.0.3147 alpha
Thanks
This week’s recordings were all correct, the problem appears to have cleared up for me.
Everything ran fine with build 1.20.1.3187 until this morning. The “No upcoming airings” is back again on the “TVA Nouvelles” schedule. I am attaching the .xml files and server logs for your reference. Thanks.

Thanks - I can see a potential problem area where the show “TVA Nouvelles” is appearing under 6 different identifiers - I will raise this with our provider to ensure consistency - but at this minute, if you refresh the guide you should be able to see season 3 1 episodes 171 to 174 scheduled and upcoming - these are on the same identifier as the one that is in the schedule.
Examples of the issues that I am seeing - these airings have different series identifiers
beginsAt (EDT)
Sat 22-Aug-2020 04:04
Sat 22-Aug-2020 12:00
Sat 22-Aug-2020 23:03
Sun 23-Aug-2020 04:09
Mon 24-Aug-2020 11:58
Mon 24-Aug-2020 16:58
and only the Mon 24-Aug-2020 11:58 EDT has the same identifier as what is scheduled
@dftguru may be the data from the channel is not right and because they are showing different episodes as being new and with for example 22 August date but different sequence numbers - then they got split into separate series ranges
If you look at the schedule here for the channel for 22nd August
https://www.ontvtonight.com/ca/guide/listings/channel/69022542/chot-tva-gatineau.html?dt=2020-08-22
you will see three different airings - all showing as new / premiere and having episode numbers of 257, 68 and 237 ! So I suppose to accomodate this, they got split into different series groupings
So your issue could be that the EPG data was behind and after today’s refresh you should pick up the next 4 or so airings into the schedule
I think combining all these airings into one series identifier would cause more issues - so i will leave it as is
If you do not get episodes 171 to 174 appear in the DVR Schedule and Recording Priority, please get me logs again and the xml after the refresh completes
