DVR Setup stuck at 0%? I cannot watch Live TV or set it up either.

Thanks for the hint! I just tried to add the DVR and pretended I was in the United States and it loaded just fine! Seems to be Canada is another victim of this switch?!

Thanks for the tip! I will try it, as a workaround. Yeah it looks like Canada is another victim

Like, you’ll have absolutely junk EPG data, but at least you can tune a channel.

Still no ability to set a manual recording schedule AFAIK tho :frowning:

Sorry to hear about the issues you are getting. Appears to be different symptoms - one being stuck after entry of post code whereas the other goes beyond that and finds a lineup

could you please get me post codes entered and if Antenna or not
Basically what parameters you have entered for setup

Having then done that, please then repeat with debug logging enabled on the server and get me screenshot sand server logs

I think both Tremat82 and I had the same issue:

Plex will ā€œfindā€ the channels the tuner tells you is there, then you progress to the screen where you confirm your language and provide your postal code, then you get stuck when you proceed after that step.

I was using the postal code L0R 1B3 which is one of the ā€œmagicā€ postal codes that straddles the US and Canada so you can get the listings for both. Using Antenna.

Maybe the next person who has this issue can grab you the logs. Mine EPG is setup now and I’m not touching it for fear of not getting it working again.

Thanks for the feedback. So the problem resolved itself ? I thought you were stuck

Problem isn’t resolved, but I found a partial workaround.

I do like most of us do when we want good service, and pretend I’m American. I use a Zip code for Buffalo which is close enough to the border that it has the EPG data for all but one of the OTA channels we get. For that one channel they don’t get, they do get another on the same network. So I don’t get EPG data for my local news programming, but everything else that network airs nationally.

I tried L0R 1B3 - it should have returned these lineups

OTA
Broadcast TV - Canada Toronto-Hamilton OTA Broadcast

Satellite
Bell TV Eastern Time Zone Digital
Shaw Direct Advanced Eastern Time Zone Digital
Shaw Direct Eastern Time Zone Digital

Cable
Cogeco Cable Grimsby Digital
Cogeco Cable Grimsby Standard Cable
Cogeco Cable Western Hamilton Digital
Cogeco Cable Western Hamilton Standard Cable

iptv
Vmedia (GTA) Ontario IPTV

With the OTA one giving 84 channels

Will see if someone else gets the hang and get me logs

Having the same issue here in Canada. Here is a possible workaround.

I created this guide, and have been using zap2xml for quite some time, because of constant issues with the plex epg

I have now reproduced the issue using your post code for setup and I have escalated to the development team.

Excellent. Hopefully it gets sorted before the final cutover to the new EPG is fully deployed. Is there a way I can track status so I know when to try to setup again using my real postal code?

Yes that would be nice

One thing i noticed is that when you go to type in the postal code, the example one has no spaces however i couldn’t click continue unless i added in the space.

no idea if this plays into the issue, but figured i’d mention it just in case

Same issue here. Canadian with plex pass. Just upgraded to Plex Media Server version ā€œPlexMediaServer-1.16.1.1246-1d09ac057-x86_64ā€ as requested by Plex.

Rebuilt DVR twice, still stuck on ā€œWe’re finding the best guide for your channels and location. This should only take a few moments.ā€ This is really sloppy work from the DVR team at Plex. Please use a VPN and test set ups for Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver. This will catch almost all Canadian issues. Don’t ask us to ā€œupgradeā€ by June 30, 2019 and then drop the ball with zero testing. If you want to release beta software, please mark it as such.

Thank you to the other members on this thread who took the time to post. I will try one of the magic postal codes. :frowning:

can confirm UI error

ā€œmagicā€ postal code did not seem to work for me. Switch to pretending to be a US based user. Selected ZIP code from USA side of great lakes. Guide started loading immediately (!!) and proceeded to the next dialog box in less than 45 seconds.

Come on Plex, let’s fix this.

The issue is with the space character and change of provider plus a bug in handling the space

A fix is being produced

That’s good to hear

Could you please look into my problem that keep showing up. I have three Plex servers in three different areas. Two in the US and one in the Vancouver BC. When I have the Vancouver Plex running, the wrong guides show up on the Apple TV in all the locations… The correct guide shows up on the Web interface. I have given details in previous posts and been completely ignored.
Please advise.

Just ran the update for 1.16.1.1273 and the guide data is working now. I did notice however that one for one of the channels the guide data is incorrect.

Not sure if there’s a way to report bad guide data, but for postal code L3C 7H5 channel 4.2 is mapping to WIVB (LAFFTV) Instead of COURTTV, which ZAP2IT correctly identified.

Other than that small issue all of the other 40 channel were correctly identified
