I have deleted the DVR.
Clicked on - Set up Plex DVR
It found all the channels as normal.
on the “electronic guide, we need to know your location.” clicked on the “Have An XMLTV guide server”
Pasted in the address for the guide as shown for NZ "https://nzxmltv.github.io/xmltv/guide-v2.xml’ Also tested in chrome that it does work and it does.
Clicked continue and all the guide channels match “GREAT”
Click Continue and Nothing/Hangs! Continue button just spins.
I have tried it in:
Chrome, Edge, Plex Media Windows App, Also from another computer. Restarted many times.
Looking at the logs it says the XML file downloaded as complete so its stuck at the next step what ever that is.
So right now I cannot watch any live TV. No matter what I do it gets stuck at the very last part of the DVR setup.
HELP!
yeah i had the same issue, im on ubuntu and actually downgraded with dkpg -i and installed a previous .deb update
i would get to the screen to select channels and go next and select what epg data to assign to what channel but couldnt go next, click the yellow text that says click here to use xml epg data then it would drop down settings for path to xml file. im from australia and plex organized for us to have a few months free of iceTV and they provided us with a http link to past into the path/to/xml/file and i was fine from there on.
Maybe i will uninstall and try an older version, One interesting thing i have noticed is that the shows are still recording even tho the DVR isn’t finishing its setup and i cant see anything in the live panel as it just says “please setup” but in the Recordings panel i see todays shows and it is still recording on time so the DVR isnt fully uninstalled and is working in that respect . Need an fix for the problem tho haha
I have uninstalled Plex from control panel and reinstalled an older version. 1.15.1.791
This fixed the problem. So there is a problem with the latest 1.16.1.1291 version.
yep same issue here DVR asks for a location theres no dropdown box dvr setup will not accept xmltv file. Plex has basically stuff what was a perfectly goo working system . take a bow plex team!
Basically the same issue here, cant get past the “Loading Channel Mappings” I can download the XMLTV file from IceTV through my browser.
I suspect their is a file size issue or a timeout issue as I dont have the fastest internet. I did check this and if I direct the path to the locally downloaded file I get the same problem.
I’m having a similar issue, I get the to the section after channel scan (where most countries have a “put in your postcode” section) I’ve just got “select language” pre-selected to English (I’m in Australia) and the “continue” button is disabled with now obvious way to enable it.
There is no EPG provided by Plex for Australia, you will need to select the XMLTV link in screenshot above. There is a paid option IceTV or numerous free options that are discussed in the forums.
I am in Australia and having all the same issues here. If I have the EPG recorder service from HDhomeRun Silicon Dust, can I get this to work with my Synology Plex setup?
I set some time aside on the weekend to re-setup the DVR after Plex’s announcement they’d no longer be providing EPG data, and I get as far as the channel mapping, click Continue and it just spins there indefinitely. Had a quick look at the logs, and everything appears fine at a glance.
HDHomeRun Connect (Current Firmware)
Plex Media Server Version 1.16.2.1297
Web Client Version 3.106.2
IceTV XMLTV Guide
Tried on up to date versions of Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Microsoft Internet Explorer and Vivaldi (No extensions in Chrome, Edge or IE). Both through Plex.tv and direct.
I am having exactly the same problem. This is really frustrating. Not only do we get boned by having to pay for or EPG in Australia now I can’t even make the Paid option of IceTV work…
