DVR Won't Record Series Shows with Xteve

I have two different Live TV and DVR sections (used the web trick) to have my OTA HD HomeRun and my Xteve with their own guides. I noticed that I can record a nightly OTA show like Colbert Report and it records every night. I tried doing the same with a nightly show on cable like Tucker Carlson, or one of the cable news shows.

I noticed that on the OTA version, the only library option shown is TV. When doing a daily show it shows up in the DVR Schedule and works nightly as expected. The Xteve library will only allow the Movies directory and will only record the single episode selected, not the series.

The Xteve library will only allow the Movies directory and will only record the single episode selected, not the series.

This means that the EPG you are using for this tuner/station is not properly declaring those airings as “TV show” episodes.

Have you gone into the Mappings for each channel in xTeve and changed their ‘EPG Category’ to “Series”? You’ll then need to do a refresh of the guide in Plex. It’s in the xTeve documentation as well.
