Server Version#: latest Beta
Player Version#: latets Beta
Shield 2019 Pro latetst Beta
First of all a thank you to the devs who got EAC3 7.1 up and running.
This thread results from:
My setup: latest Beta (7.24.0.13532) on Shield TV Pro 2019 + Panasonic GZ2000
Shield is connected via Ethernet (Lan)
Using HDMI 2.1 cable
Whenever I play videos with DD+/EAC3 audio the video starts (micro) stuttering but audio is smooth.
No transcoding (due to the fact that not necessary because my setup fully supports it) -> direct play.
Is there something I did wrong or missed to configure.
Thank you
Unfortunately, the topic of EAC3 7.1 is not yet completely finished or perfect. Unfortunately it is still recognized as 5.1 by the server.
Each of these three examples is not recognized correctly.

Unfortunately, the problem still persists. Current films with the latest versions of the programs. All Disney, StarWars and Marvel films in particular have DD+ with 7.1 for non-english soundtracks.

Still unchanged. I am also surprised that nobody from Plex is reacting to it and leaving a comment. For me it is a “major problem” that Plex EAC3 does not recognize properly.
Thanks for the reports. I’ll pass this along to one of our playback/transcoder engineers to see if we can improve this.

We are aware of this issue, but it is lower down the priority list. Sorry I don’t have an ETA or an update.
