Hi,
I’ve just added Houdini & Doyle (2016) TV Series to my Plex and the “Scan Library Files” found the program adding the poster and name of the episodes correctly. But when I edit the program I’m only show one poster and not able to get the rating for it or show and the title field is blank.
I’m guessing something to do with my naming of the file!! The files are named
“Houdini & Doyle (2016) S01E01” up to 10
I really would like to add the rating as my Plex is accessed but my children who are under the advised age of 15 for this program.
Hope this make sense and someone can help
Close the edit modal and then click on the show’s title.
It should bring you to the actual preplay screen of the overall show, from where you can edit the show as a whole.
This is a good example of a problem I have with Plex. When you add a single season of a show (often the ONLY season if it’s Anime), Plex insists on mentioning that you added just a single season in the “recently Added” hub. So when you click on that menu entry, or attempt to edit the info/poster, you are now editing the season level, not the show.
Even though those episodes are the only files your show may ever have, it won’t list the show entry, but just the season entry. This leads to another issue, where Plex will somehow pick up a bizarre foreign language poster for the season, and refuse to use the show-level poster that is in my primary language. Attempting to edit the season, half the time my only choice is the single foreign language poster, and the other half of the time the poster selection is BLANK despite it clearly having a poster that is different from the show-level.
Sorry, this rant has been building for some months now. The OP appears to be having the same issue (poster for season entry that doesn’t match the show), and an inability to modify it (without clicking through to the show-level).
Thank you everyone who replied. I was trying to access the information from the Home page and “Recently Added” thread. Which was only giving me the series not the show.
Again thank you (lesson learnt)
