I moved from an Airport Extreme to an Eero and now I cannot get Remote Access to work.
I have created a reservation to my Mac running PMS on both TCP only and TCP and UDP, neither works. I have also followed the suggestion here: https://forums.plex.tv/discussion/comment/1448011/#Comment_1448011 and changed my DNS to Google (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4).
I have also tried UPnP, and also tried turning it off. I have changed the external port, restarted my network, restarted PMS, and restarted my Mac.
None of this works. Any suggestions?
I have just done much the same as you, changing from Airport Extreme to Netgear Orbi for my Wifi network. My solution was to continue using the Airport Extreme as my router/DHCP server, but with the Wireless network disabled. The Netgear Orbi was set up as a Wifi base with router/DHCP service switched off (this would be called ‘Bridge mode’ using the Airport terminology, ‘AP Mode’ for Netgear). Works fine and no interference with the VPN setup that I had in place.
Here are instructions for ‘Bridge Mode’ with Eero: https://www.howtogeek.com/289542/how-to-use-the-eero-in-bridge-mode-to-keep-your-routers-advanced-features/
Thanks but I believe a $400 router ought to be able to handle opening a port and passing traffic. Sounds like I need to take this up with Eero.
Did you ever find a solution for this?
