Mac Plex Media Server Remote Access setup on eero wireless router

  1. On your Mac that you want Remote Access to, open System Preferences then select Network >Wi-Fi>Advanced.
  2. Select TCP/IP tab and write down the IPv4 Address.
  3. Select Hardware tab and write down Mac Address.
  4. Open eero app on your phone and select Network settings from the drop down upper left of screen.
  5. Select Advanced Settings and then Reservations & Port Forwarding.
  6. Select Add a reservation and scroll down to the bottom of the screen and select Enter manually.
  7. Give a Nickname i.e. Plex Mac Mini or something like that.
  8. Enter ip Address and Mac Address that you gathered from Mac System Preferences and select Save.
  9. Open your Plex Media Server and select Settings.
  10. Select Remote Access and then Enable Remote Access.
  11. You should then get a message " Fully accessible outside your network".
Note: I have not been able to get this to work with my Private Internet Access VPN on. Instead I put Plex on my MacBook Pro that I don’t have VPN on and I move over any TV or Movie files from my Mac Mini that I want remote access to.
